Special A (S.A.) follows Hikari Hanazono, an intensely competitive student who has spent years trying to defeat her childhood rival, Kei Takishima. At their prestigious academy, both belong to the elite “Special A” class reserved for the school’s seven highest-ranking students—but no matter how hard Hikari works, Kei remains number one while she stays number two. What Hikari doesn’t realize is that while she sees Kei as her greatest rival, Kei has feelings for her. The series mixes romantic comedy, school life, friendship, and over-the-top competition as Hikari desperately tries to finally beat him.
