Rudo is a boy from the slums of a floating city where the wealthy throw away not only garbage, but also people they consider worthless. He survives by salvaging discarded items and repairing them.

Enjin explains that Rudo is a Giver and invites him to join the Cleaners, an organization that fights Trash Beasts. Hoping the Cleaners can help him find a way back to the Sphere, Rudo agrees to pursue the opportunity. He soon meets Zanka, a skilled Cleaner who is assigned to train him—and their first encounter quickly turns into a fight. The episode also introduces Riyo near the end.
