Ash and his friends rescue Charmander from a dangerous storm, and after seeing Ash’s kindness and loyalty, Charmander ultimately chooses to join him.

Ash Ketchum begins his journey and receives Pikachu as his first Pokémon. After a rough start, Pikachu saves Ash from a flock of Spearow, creating their legendary bond.

After Ash helps defend the village from Team Rocket, Bulbasaur challenges Pikachu to a battle and eventually joins Ash’s team.

Ash and his friends encounter the mischievous Squirtle Squad, a group of abandoned Squirtle known for causing trouble. After Team Rocket puts everyone in danger, Ash protects the Squad’s leader and earns its trust. The Squirtle help save the town from a fire, and their leader ultimately decides to join Ash on his journey.

Ash catches a Krabby before he, Misty, and Brock arrive at a mysterious lighthouse owned by Pokémon researcher Bill. Bill is waiting for an incredibly rare Pokémon he believes will appear from the sea. Soon, an enormous mysterious Pokémon emerges through the fog, but Team Rocket interferes with Bill’s chance to communicate with it.
